Oliver Smith Recruitment have partnered with a progressive manufacturing business based in Glasgow to recruit an experienced Payroll Clerk.

Working as part of a team, reporting to the Payroll Manager you will deal with high volume weekly/monthly/fortnightly payrolls, therefore you will ideally have previous experience of working within a similar role within bureau/umbrella/accountancy environment OR an inhouse payroll role, processing payrolls at multiple intervals ie. weekly/monthly etc. You will be responsible for full end to end payrolls and be passionate about providing an excellent payroll service, possessing a good attention to detail.

Duties:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll using Sage Payroll, including HMRC submissions and compliance.
  • Pensions Administration: Handle basic pensions administration
  • General Accounts Support: Assist with bookkeeping and other general finance tasks.
  • System Management: Use Sage Payroll and Sage 50 systems to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.

About You:

    • Proven experience in payroll processing.
    • Comfortable with general finance tasks.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.

Junior Credit Controller

Junior Credit Controller

Oliver Smith Recruitment are currently working with our key client in Glasgow to recruit a Junior Credit Controller on a permanent contract. You’ll play a key role in managing our clients credit control processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting various finance tasks.

 

This is an urgent requirement due to sustained growth within the organisation.

 

Duties:

 

• Follow up on outstanding invoices via phone, email, and written communication, working closely with the Credit Control Manager.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the finance system, ensuring all documentation is filed appropriately.

• Generate regular reports on outstanding debts, cash collections, and other relevant metrics for review by the Credit Control Manager.

• Provide general support to the finance team as required, including assistance with month-end closing and audits.

• Assist in the preparation and distribution of invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Assist with the month end close (fixed assets, accruals and prepayments, revenue recognition, etc.)
  • Full management of the Sales Ledger, including credit control
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Payroll
  • Reporting
